SVZ AND ASSOCIATES is an authorised financial services provider operating within Old Mutual Personal Financial Advice. 'Old Mutual Group' refers to Old Mutual Limited and its subsidiaries.

We collect and process your personal information mainly to provide financial planning and advisory services, to grant you access to our services and financial products, and to help us improve our offerings to you.

The type of information we collect will depend on the purpose for which it is collected. We will only collect information that we need for that purpose. Categories of personal information collected include: name, email address, telephone number, identity number, financial planning preferences, and any additional information you voluntarily provide via our forms.

We collect information directly from you where you provide us with your personal details, for example when you enquire about our services or submit information via our website.

We also collect information about you from other sources, such as: third parties for credit reference, anti-money laundering and fraud prevention purposes; and other companies in the Old Mutual Group when we believe it will enhance the services we can offer to you, but only where you have not objected to such sharing.

Your personal information is collected and processed for the purpose of providing financial planning services, responding to your enquiries, communicating with you about relevant products and services, complying with legislation, and for record keeping.

The legal bases for processing include: your explicit consent, the performance of a contract, compliance with a legal obligation, and the legitimate interests of SVZ AND ASSOCIATES or the Old Mutual Group.

We will not sell, share, or rent your personal information to third parties without your consent, except as required by law, to fulfil contractual obligations with Old Mutual, or to comply with regulatory requirements.

Where necessary or required, we may share information with: Old Mutual Group companies, financial organisations, credit reference agencies, regulatory authorities, ombudsman offices, auditors, and professional advisers.

From time to time we may need to share personal information with third parties in other countries. Such sharing will only be done in compliance with POPIA, including where the recipient is subject to a law or binding agreement providing an adequate level of protection, or where you have consented to the transfer.

Your personal information will be retained for as long as necessary to fulfil the purposes for which it was collected, or as required by applicable law and regulatory obligations.

We implement appropriate technical and organisational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorised access, loss, alteration, or misuse. Safeguarding and preserving the confidentiality, integrity, and availability of your information is imperative to our operations.

Where you complete our online onboarding questionnaires (for example the Tax Onboarding Questionnaire), sensitive identifiers such as ID and tax reference numbers are stored securely, supporting documents are stored in private object storage and are only retrievable through short-lived signed links, and any administrative access to those identifiers is recorded in our audit trail. These measures are designed to support POPIA-aligned processing.

Your rights under POPIA include: the right to access your personal information; the right to request correction or deletion; the right to object to the processing of your information; and the right to withdraw consent.
